I have 2 questions
I was diagnosed clinically with herpes
I was on antivirals for a week and acivir ointment
2 weeks after completing the course I went for the test it was negative
It was negative after 45 and 60 days simultaneously. It was igg igm Elisa test
I went to another doctor who said it was balanitis and gave me medication for it
My question is
1)Do I have herpes or did I have it in the first place
2)Was the clinical diagnosis correct because the condition was healed 80 percent
But now I'm having pain in the penis
3)Can this be because of herpes or balanitis
Because herpes igg igm is negative
Please give an answer
Very scared

Step by step. Usually herpes IgG remains in the body even after treatment. IgM needs to be there to say if you have recent infection.
Herpes comes with painful blisters unlikely with overall redness and pain.
Balanitis at your age needs to be evaluated properly. Don’t take it lightly. Show all the reports and consult for the right treatment and diagnosis
Hi.. herpes igM antibodies positive means you have herpes. It may become negative after treatment. IgG positive means you have developed antibodies to the infection.
