Pain in my knee.
Hello, my name is AJ and I'm 17. I've recently started going to the chiropracticor. Because of my knees and neck. Ive injured my knees countless times growing up but they really started to get bad around the beggining of highachool. The chiropractor diagnosed me with Osgood Schlatter's disease. And he told me it haopens when your young and growing a lot. He also told me that it usually only happens to kids around the age of 12-15 and leaves shortly after. Osgood schlatter is diagnosed based on clinical presentation, history and x-rays.. During painful period, applying ice packs locally and medications like paracetamol should help.

Get x-rays done for both knee..and share.

You may have to limit sports activities for some time if the pain is unbearable till the apophysis unites with the bone..that is usually around 18 years.

• Avoid Squatting- • Avoid sitting Cross legged • Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area • Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold). • Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment in which knee is applied warm water followed by the immediate application of the knee with ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.
