Hi Doctor, This is Vikalp. Doctor I am suffering from pain in back ribs below the left shoulder blade. It's has been more than 2 months. Actually I faced this type of condition about one year ago. I was trying to lift my bike from back side to park it at proper location, suddenly I felt a movement in my back ribs with an accute pain. Even it was very difficult for me to take a breath. So i take rest for 2 days and everything became normal. This has happened with me about 3 to 4 times my everything became normal after 2 or 3 day.. but this time more than 2 months have been passed but i am still suffering for that pain. This time i was try to move gas cylinder. The intensity of the pain is  not that much after 2 months but it's still hurts. Even i am not able to lift the weight. Please suggest me what should i do so that i can go back to my normal life. I have attached a photo that will helo you to understand where the pain is.

Your sitting habits is causing stiffness and weakness of the muscles of that side. You mentioned left but picture shows right side. Your continued tilted sitting habits or one sided lying is taking this problem time to settle down. Laptop, computer, mobile, recreational sitting etc.
Next Steps
we can do a teleconsultation if you want

Hi Vikalp. Thanks for adding the photo. What you have is mostly a muscle strain involving the lattisimus muscle. This muscle strain needs focused physiotherapy. Please use the following resource to learn more. Skip to the bottom of the page to find stretching and muscle lengthening exercises with videos. https://www.physio-pedia.com/latissimus_dorsi_muscle
Next Steps
Use hot fomentation with hot water bottle. You can mildly massage the area with volini type of gel. Avoid sudden activities like weight lifting.
Health Tips
Always warm up before exercises. Do focused physiotherapy for 1-2 weeks. Then start gym activities. Please contact me for any more queries.

Hello Vikalp. The pain seems to be due to paraspinal muscle spasm on right side.. The occurrence of multiple episodes may be due to stretching or inflammation of nerves originating from the spinal cord level.
Next Steps
I will suggest you start with hot fomentation,  take analgesic with muscle relaxant tablet, apply analgesic ointment over the site of pain. If possible, also start with physiotherapy including SWD, Local US..
Health Tips
Avoid sitting down, avoid heavy work, avoid Indian toilet,  avoid forward bending for now..
