It could be due to 2 reasons :
A) The socket is not healed which could be due to infection in that area and poor oral hygiene .
B) A root fragment is left in the socket and an incomplete extraction was done
Next Steps
Warm saline rinses is advised 3-4 times a day
And a X -Ray if the root to rule out the later cause .
