It could be a referred pain from the cervical spine, or degenerative joint arthropathy, frozen shoulder which is referring pain down in the hand and wrist. You need to get an assessment done in order to come to a diagnosis.

Hello. This sounds like a muscle spasm. Any history of injury. She could be having cervical spondylosis. Please see an orthopaedic surgeon for face to face consultation.
