Ovulation issues
Hi , I am 25 year old female. I have my TSH 6.2. I am trying to conceive . I traced my ovulation this month through ovulation kits which shows i am not ovulating. Can thyroid be the reason for same ? I have started thyroxine sodium 12.5 mgs. I have a regular 28-29 day cycle although. Please suggest. How much time do it takes for thyroid to be treated. And how can I conceive fast.

Hi there,, Derranged thyroid does affects the fertility.. It takes nearly 6 weeks to normalise thyroid. If it's already been six weeks of medication please repeat the test.

After taking thyroid medicines, you should repeat TSH testing after 6 weeks. Thyroid may be the reason of not ovulating but thee may be other reasons. However, ovulation kit is not very good in predicting ovulation. better to check for ovulation by serial TVS or by day21 blood test for progesterone
