Overweight loss
My height is 5'1 and weight 60 kg.. i also had a thyroid problem.. So pls advise me what should be my weight according to my height and also suggest me how can i reduce weight at home ??

Hi     You are little over weight, since your BMI is 25, so its recommended to reduce 5-6 kgs, that weight may be due to your hypothyroidism, so better check your thyroid levels, if it is in control, go for diet modification and exercise. If hormone levels are not normal, consult your physician for change in doses, because hormonal irregularities may cause weight gain.    Go for walking 45 mins on alternate days, consume 8 - 10 glasses of water and dietary modification. consume more salads but avoid cabbage, cauliflour, broccoli, excess amount of wheat or barley which may again aggravate your thyroid problem. Hello Am Dr.A.Kavitha Consultant Physician & Diabetologist      Your Height is 5"1' which is approx 153 cm       Your Wt. is 60kg        So your BMI is 25.6 which is Grade 1 Obesity         Your Ideal Wt.should be. 48 to 55 kg      You can reduce your weight by regular walking of minimum 30 min regularly..If you are not used to walking before,start walking with 5 min with slow pace. Increase daily by 5 min.until you reach. half an hour as your heart should get used to exercise.Then increase your speed .Walk atleast 5 days in a week Diet should include low carbohydrates,low fat,high protein & high fibre diet that means less rice or roti,more curry with less oil,Include lots of greens in your diet.Our meals contain 3 major meals i.e. breakfast,lunch & dinner.Never give long gaps between meals. So have minor snacks in between major meals like vegetable salads& fruits like guava,orange,sweetlime,papayya,watermelon,musk melon,pomegranate seeds,Sprouts,Oats,Cornflakes,Poha,Puffed rice( Murmura) Oils should be restricted to half litre per person per month.Keep changing the oils like sunflower,peanut,rice bran,mustard oils Non veg :  Egg white,chicken & fish Avoid Red meat Avoid Sweets,Fatty foods like Butter,Cream,Ghee,Junk foods,fruits like Banana,Mango,Custard Apple,Jack fruit,Chikoo,Also avoid processed foods.Avoid Cabbage, & Cauliflower for your thyroid Avoid deep fried foods like french fries,chips,Poori Vada etc. Diet Control means having food in time not skipping meals. Consume good amounts of water 2 lts atleast per day. Also get exposed to sunlight as Vit D3 deficiency is one of the causes for diabetes,hypertension & hypothyroidism & joint pains at early ages.
