The ovarian cyst occurs due to many reason. as in ultrasound there are mural nodes and septa so mri pelvis is best diagnostic procedure to know the nature of cyst. Sometimes it is just collected blood I.e. endometriotic cyst. which gives same picture. then it can be resolved with medicine . sometimes it requires laproscopic removal of cyst. best will be first get mri done.

Thank you for your question. Any investigation is interpreted along with clinical findings and history. It is for this reason that your gynaecologist has requested further evaluation in the form of an MRI. I can understand your worry and concern about what you should do next. Understand that it is still an evaluation. Complete diagnosis often requires something along the lines of an endoscopy and/ or biopsy which can be studied in detail before a conclusive statement can be provided and further appropriate treatment given. Sometimes this may involve just waiting and watching while other times it can need more investigations. Since the ultrasound has suggested something that needs further evaluation you have been recommended to have an MRI. Your best option is to discuss the plan of management with your consultant so that you know in which direction the thought process is taking you. You can then ask questions and get doubts clarified so that you do not feel lost or overwhelmed with the outcome of investigations which are needed. with best wishes
