Ovarian cancer stage 3c
My mother has been recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 3c can she get cured .treatment is going on i.e Neo adjuvant chemotherapy at Tata memorial hospital Mumbai ?

For stage 3c ovarian cancer, standard of care is Chemotherapy and surgery. Chemotherapy is given prior to surgery (neoadjuvant) in patients with extensive disease when surgeon feel more morbid upfront surgery. In that situation neoadjuvant chemo followed by surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy will be given. Total number of chemo cycles will be around 6. Novel therapies like PARP inhibitors are given after Chemotherapy to improve survival.
