Osteoarthritis of hip
My mom is a pateint of osteoarthritis having chronic hip and knee pain, she is taking aceclofenac 100mg twice a day and it provides sufficient pain relief, is aceclofenac safe for long-term, she is using aceclofenac from 2 years

This treatment is being suggested on bases of the information provided. However I would like to examine & investigate your mother in detail. -Control  Hypertension, Diabetes or  metabolic disorder, if there is any. -Any way it may be tried, --. Paracetamol 500 mg] 1 tab. OD & SOS. X 5 days. --. Caldikind plus  (Mankind) 1 tab OD x 10 days. -(You may need help of your local doctor to get these medicines.) --. Fomentation with warm water. Let the part not be exposed to cold. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. --. Use no pillow under the head. --. First stop Acelclofenac .... It has lot of side effects on kidney . Start paracetamol 600 sos... Better visit nearby doctor

It is better not to take aceclofenac for long term. Consult orthopaedic dr to see other options like food supplements and Physiotheraphy

Aceclofenac is safe for short term use..you better take renal safe NSAID. If pain is controlled by it then fine..you can continue using it off and on. All cases of arthritis  don't need surgery.

Can you send x-rays of pelvis with both hip in internal rotation view. if she is having osteoarthritis of hip will have to evaluate whether it is primary or secondary to any underlying conditions.longterm pain killers are not recommended if she is having severe osteoarthritis she needs to be evaluated clinically for further management.
