Osteoarthritis
My mom is having joints pain since 18 years which subsided after having medications.But now its worsened 2 months back ...please kindly suggest me...waiting for quick feedback please...

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

Your mom could be suffering from Osteoarthritis if only her knees are paining,,,but are you sure her other joints dont pain...also has her pain increased in winter months....or has she taken a long trip or exerted herself and then the pain started?? Is your mother able to walk or is having difficuilty to walk and put weight on her knees. Is the pain more in morning/evening or only on weight bearing? Is she on any medication now?if yes what? Do resort back with answers to the queries for a conclusive diagnosis

need to get her blood tested for sr calcium, sr uric acid RA factor VitD CBC also both knees Xrays in AP and Lat position Bone densitometry for knowing the stage of osteoarthritis/osteopenia

Hi First do blood test Consult physiotherapist for all her joint movement & muscle strengthening  exe It's worsed may be due to cold because in this season joint pain accure

In my opinion u need to go for physiotherapy sessions followed by knee strengthening exs...few blood test need to be done like calcium vitamin d uric acid if the values are deranged then she needs to take supplement for that... till then u can start with tab. Kondroacute once a day for maintaining synovial fluid in the knee joint...do not go for surgery as this can be maintained by physiotherapy and exs...take care get well soon

Age of the patient? Long standing osteoarthritis may need some kind of intervention. Your mother requires to be examined by an Orthopedic surgeon, get the knees xrayed and a proper treatment plan formulated.
