Oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) is a potentially pre-cancerous condition that affects the soft tissues of the mouth. It is commonly associated with the use of tobacco products, including chewing tobacco. OSMF is characterized by the formation of fibrous bands in the mouth, leading to restricted mouth opening, difficulty in eating, and other symptoms. It's important to follow the advice and treatment prescribed by your doctor. SM Fibro, which is likely the medication you mentioned, is a commonly used medicine for OSMF. It helps in reducing the fibrosis and preventing further progression of the condition. It's essential to take the medication as prescribed and follow up with your doctor for regular check-ups and evaluation of your progress. Regarding your concerns about cancer, it's important to note that OSMF itself is a potentially pre-cancerous condition, but not everyone with OSMF develops cancer. Quitting tobacco use is a significant step in reducing the risk of progression to cancer. However, it's crucial to have regular follow-up appointments with your doctor to monitor your condition and address any concerns you may have. As for diet, it's best to consult with your doctor or a registered dietitian who can provide specific recommendations based on your individual needs. Generally, a soft and non-irritating diet is advisable for individuals with OSMF to minimize discomfort and further damage to the oral tissues. It's important to have open and honest communication with your doctor regarding your concerns, symptoms, and any new developments. They are the best resource to guide you through your diagnosis, treatment, and management of OSMF. They can assess your stage of OSMF and determine if any additional tests, such as a biopsy, are necessary.

Hello. Sorry to hear that. 1)Dnt worry if it's in the initial it can be treated, and limit it at that stage, provided you quite all habits. 2) Biopsy is not required 3) Follow a healthy diet and lifestyle, refrain from hot and spicy food if u have a burning sensation while having food. 4)Intake of green leaf veg n fruits or multivitamin tablets 5) If it is left untreated and if you continue the same then it's alarming.

First of all, don't panic. OSMF is a pre cancerous lesion,  not cancer. Quit habit. Visit a local oral medicine specialist for physical evaluation and treatment (if required)
