If your Orthodontist has already checked your smile , and your teeth and see your dental full xrays. They have based the tooth removal for dental protrusion treatment on a scientific backup. In my experience, Dental braces treatment without teeth removal especially in cases where it actually was essential will lead to unsatisfactory results for many patients. Hope this helped.

The decision to extract teeth in orthodontic treatment, including cases of maxillary (upper jaw) protrusion, depends on various factors and requires a comprehensive evaluation by an orthodontist.
In some cases of maxillary protrusion, it may be necessary to extract teeth to create space for proper alignment and correction of the bite. The specific teeth that need extraction would be determined based on the individual's dental condition, jaw structure, facial profile, and other factors.
Extracting teeth in the maxillary area alone, without extracting any teeth from the mandibular (lower jaw) area, is known as one arch extraction. This approach may be suitable for certain cases, depending on the patient's needs and the orthodontist's assessment. However, the decision to extract teeth from one or both arches is highly dependent on the specific situation and the treatment plan proposed by the orthodontist.
when we talk about treatment of protrusion of upper teeth, there is a complete analysis which an orthodontist is required to do to come to a conclusion on whether it requires all 4 extraction or 2 extraction or none.
In order to accommodate the protrusion an orthodontist has limited options like either the bone which harbors the teeth is expanded giving some space for push back, in cases where the expansion is not advised then just to decrease the tooth material orthodontist remove the teeth to accommodate the protrusion.
In most cases when the upper 2 teeth are advised for removal the lower 2 teeth are also advised more often for extraction because the upper teeth push back will be hindered by the lower front teeth as they are not pushed back which will result in unpleasant facial profile.
