Optimal values for blood sugar
Hi, I was taking diabetes medication for the last 2yrs, my doctor recently stopped my medications as my diabetes was normal while fps and pps and hba1c and asked me to monitor my blood sugar level frequently. What should be the optimal levels after which I should reconsider going to the doctor again for medications and for how many days should I monitor the reading before approaching the doctor.

The various targets for blood sugar which we aim for in patients are: HbA1c - less than 7 blood sugar fasting - 80-130 Blood sugar post meal - less than 180 These targets are although too good to be true in daily practice and quite difficult to achieve but they should be kept in mind while altering the ongoing treatment.
