OGTT vs hba1c/ random/fastng blood sugar
Hi,
Please answer my following query:
During 2nd trimester of pregnant (more than 24weejs), which test is best to detect gestational diabetes? Shall I go for OGTT Or hba1c Or random & fasting blood sugar test? Kindly suggest.

The Gold standard is OGTT but the most convenient very useful is GCT. (Glucose Challenge Test).
You do blood sugar test 90 minutes after taking 75 gm of glucose. The reading should be less than 140 mg%.
Only one reading is involved. No fasting is required for this test.
