Hearing people talk about their depression and their " depressed phase " always and never fails to make me feel off and horrible . I have been through a dark episode, where I literally couldn't smile and hope for a good day and I dealt with serious suicide attempts and suicidal thoughts all the time . Yet when I talk to people about it , all then said was " you are a teen it's normal " even now that i am completely healed , it's hard to hear that and be okay with it . Something about that line tells me all this wasn't real and that it isn't a serious thing when I was losing my soul because of it . Does everyone really feel this ? When people say they " feel me " it makes me more depressed . What I have been through was real and painful and i know it wasn't just " hormones " and a " phase " . Can someone explain why I feel angry about that? Why does everyone think they can relate to my experience ?

You feel angry because you want people to understand what you went through and because it was so personal and dark for you at the same Tim you don't believe they understand.
It's OK.. People are ignorant about depression etc n that's wthe best they can say sometimes.. I feel you.
Use your ability to have overcome and impart knowledge to people who suffer through rather discussing with people who don't seem to understand this enough.
They may think they do what else can they say... If they say they relate u feel angry if they had said oh depression is nothing u would have felt bad too.
Don't absorb what others say...
