Octamop or melbild for vitiligo?
I have vitiligo in both hands, mostly small spots/circles/lines,and one bigger patch in around one thumb. Not sharing pic as 2 dermatologist I met both have confirmed as vitiligo. It's steadily spreading as I roughly see new spots every 2 week around. Need a suggestion on one of primary medicine prescribed to me. There are tablets given too which I am not listing here. Please don't give automated/generic response. While 1st doctor has told to apply melbild in morning and show to sun minutes later, 2nd doctor has told to apply octamop lotion (methoxsalen) and show to sun 5 minutes later for short duration 2-4 minutes. Both have different compositions, so Which one I shall follow for better benefits?

Hello . For your enquiry - use Octamop in the morning & tacroz 0.1% in the night over patches . We need to give oral steroids - but I cannot prescribe over practo. Chemist will not give you over the counter without written prescription. We need to stabilise your vitiligo first . come to the clinic we need to do CBC,LFT,RFT blood tests to start you on azathioprine (need to find out your body weight),methylprednisolone twice a week. These medications please don’t take without coming to our clinic Dr Karishma Aesthetics Indranagar- my dermatologist will do full examination with proper prescription You may need surgery in the next coming 6 months to cover white patches .
