Hi there,
A detailed medical and psychiatric history is always needed for every case.In addition, a detailed mental status examination is also recommended for every case.and the case is managed accordingly.
Medications are not only prescribed for the treatment but a therapeutic dose is also recommended for every drug. Blood levels are to be reached according to the half-life of the drug and other factors.
Whether the drugs were given to you by your treating mental health professional in the therapeutic doses or not, not clear. But maybe they were withdrawn because of the side effects.
Be positive in your thoughts.
Do discuss your problems with your treating mental health professionals whenever you approach them.
Sometimes psychological interventions are also needed in disorders like OCDs.
