Not speaking & addicted to screen
My 2.5 years son is not talking as usual of his age. He speaks very few words but understands most of our conversations. He is hyper active and just to make him sit to eat his food we played cartoons and off late he is addicted to mobile, he is interested to watch mostly Dinosaur cartoons or videos and also behaves like Dinosaur in his activities most of the day. Is this normal or something to worry about? Please suggest which doctor we should consult to enable him speak/talk fluently. We are from Hyderabad, please suggest in detail… Thank you.

It is not a major issue. In nuclear families and current situtations children sometimes learn to talk late. He is not abnormal though. Just talk to him more, let him play with kids who speak. And once he starts school, he will catch up. Do not panic or overthink.

hank you for sharing this important concern. You're not alone—many parents experience similar situations with children around 2.5 years of age. Here's a complete, clear, and professional explanation to help you understand what's happening, whether it's normal, and what steps you can take. At 2.5 years (30 months), a child is typically expected to: Use at least 50 words Start combining 2–3 word phrases (like “want water” or “mumma come”) Understand simple instructions Point to body parts or familiar objects when asked Your child understands conversations — that’s a good sign, showing that receptive language is developing. However, if expressive language (speaking) is significantly delayed and limited to a few words only, it's worth investigating further. Using mobile screens, especially cartoons/videos to keep a child seated during meals, is increasingly common. However: Excessive screen time (especially

The issues sounds like ADHD which can potentially lead to delayed milestones; however, proper case taking is necessary before coming to any conclusion. In some cases it may be just a baseline for the child. Don’t rush to any diagnosis and consult a qualified practitioner. Homeopathy and a good option for treatment IF NEEDED.

Speech delay with hyperactivity and mobile addiction may be early signs of ADHD. Reducing screen time is the first and most important step. Start spending more interactive time with your child — talk to him often, recite rhymes, sing simple poems, and encourage eye contact. These small steps build language and attention naturally. With proper homeopathic treatment and daily communication, many children show great improvement.

What you are doing with your child is completely wrong ....stop this immediately. As per details...he seems to be having ADHD issues and it needs to be addressed asap otherwise it may get complicated. ADHD kid can show delayed milestones and attention deficit. This doesn't mean that you need to provide mobile as solution. It needs to be treated in a holistic approach for complete recovery. It can be well treated with homeopathic medicine and occupational therapy. You need an expert Psychologist who is a good homeopathic physician. After a few months of treatment you can start with occupational therapy for better recovery.

At this age, children typically begin speaking in short sentences, though every child develops at their own pace. However, delayed speech, hyperactivity, and strong screen attachment can sometimes point towards developmental concerns that benefit from early intervention. Suggestions: Reduce screen time significantly. Excessive mobile use can delay speech and impact social interactions. Try replacing screen time with interactive play, picture books, and talking games. You can enrol him in summer camps or activities like running/ any sports or any hobby that he has (dance etc.) Observe behaviors like repetitive actions, eye contact, responsiveness to name, or any unusual movements. These help rule out conditions like ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Feel free to consult with me for a detailed homeopathic case evaluation to support your child’s development.
