Now a days due to life style and increased stress level due to work performance in corporate executives, this problem of Insomnia (inability to sleep and effect on heart rate is very common. Fear increases the stress. Your problem is not serious and can be managed by change in life style. Yoga, Pranayam meditation all with regular sleep cycle during night for at least 7 to 8 hrs is necessary for recovery. Do some light exercises daily. For cardiac problem visit some Cardiologist to rule out any pathological (Disease process) issue. for temporary purpose you can take medicine for sleep but you need a prescription from qualified doctor. Do not postpone sleep when you are feeling sleepy on any excuse. Do not see TV Mobile when going to sleep. Do not lie down till feeling sleepy. sometimes reading a book or going for a walk may help.

Looks like ur symptoms are due to lack of adequate sleep. As u r quite young, I wld advise u not to pop any sleeping pills. Instead u can start regular exercise or practise yoga, reduce ur stress levels or other thought-processes responsible for ur temporary anxiety spells. Avoid watching tv before u go to sleep. U may also try having chamomile tea or warm milk in the night.
