Not able to concentrate
Hi doctor, I am 17 years old and I find it very difficult to concentrate. This has a direct impact on my studies and I face it difficult to remember things. I can't remember things as I used to do before. I get distracted very easily. This things started gradually and is getting worst day by day. This started happening almost a year ago. Please advise some exercises and other things which I can practice on daily basis. Mostly people say to meditate, and have breathing exercises but no one explains it. so please explain the ways which you suggest🙏🙏.

Hello, Glad to know that you have identified your issue and you are seeking help.Lack of concentration can be secondary to some other mental health issue and it can come as a primary symptom as well.You need to check on certain issues,whether there is lack of concentration and forgetfulness only in studies or in other routine activities? Are you sleeping well? You are facing this issue from last year... have these symptoms worsened or is the intensity same as it was last year. Try some attention enhancing techniques.

Is your sleeping and eating pattern okay? 3. Are there too many tasks that you’re trying to focus at once? Try to reflect on these questions. Seek psychological help if the difficulty persists

Hi I appreciate that you reach out with your concern Whatever information you have provided I found memory n concentration are the concerns for u U can do 1)brain Gym (check out in u tube) 2) deep breathing-5 counts u inhale 4 counts hold n 5 counts exhale - do 20 times 3) set realistic goals- it helps u from distractions 4) for memory- use visual clues, reminders....in studies use graphic organizer 5) play board games 6) do half an hrs physical exercise/ running/brisk walking/ skipping Still not feeling well book an appointment with me me

Firstly, it is important to find out the reasons why you are not able to concentrate on your studies. Based on assessment a treatment plan will be advised. You will be taught and explained how to do it.
