Non Healing Amputation
Sir my father got surgery done of his left foot (Amputation below knee) due to gangrene on 24 Apr 2016. He is diabetic and his wound is not healing due to infection. What should we do plz suggest to avoid another surgery. However his sugar is almost in control.

Non healing wound is due to uncontrolled diabetes . I will advise you to find a qualified acupuncturist in your area and start treating with it. Wound will heal rapidly and with further therapy even diabetes will also get under full control

Hi there...I can understand your concern. You must understand that high sugar is one most common cause for delayed healing of wounds. Since the sugar levels are just now under control, it will take some time for the wound to heal. Provide the patient with good nutrition. Follow all the ascetic precautions the doctor advises you. If you are still not satisfied with the results, then you can take a opinion of a plastic surgeon for further evaluation.
