Deep Breathing and Relaxation Techniques: Practicing deep breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, or mindfulness meditation can help calm your mind and reduce anxiety in the moment. Physical Activity: Engaging in regular exercise can help reduce anxiety by releasing endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. Activities like walking, jogging, yoga, or dancing can be beneficial. Healthy Lifestyle: Prioritize a balanced diet, adequate sleep, and minimizing caffeine and alcohol intake. These factors can significantly impact your anxiety levels. Mindfulness and Meditation: Practicing mindfulness techniques and meditation can help you stay present and manage racing thoughts. These practices encourage focusing on the present moment without judgment. Challenge Negative Thoughts: Cognitive-behavioral techniques involve identifying and challenging irrational or negative thoughts that contribute to anxiety. Replace these thoughts with more realistic and positive ones. Limit Stressors: Identify and minimize sources of stress in your life. This might involve setting boundaries, delegating tasks, or simplifying your schedule. Social Support: Talk to friends, family members, or a therapist about your feelings. Sometimes, sharing your concerns with others can provide relief and new perspectives. Time Management: Break tasks into smaller, manageable steps. Setting achievable goals and prioritizing tasks can help prevent feeling overwhelmed. Hobbies and Distractions: Engaging in activities you enjoy can distract you from anxious thoughts and help you relax. Creative outlets, hobbies, and leisure activities are great options. Professional Help: If your anxiety is severe and affecting your daily life, consider seeking help from a mental health professional. They can provide therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), medication, or a combination of both. Journaling: Write down your thoughts and feelings. This can help you gain insights into your anxiety triggers and patterns, as well as provide a cathartic release. Breathing Exercises: Practice deep breathing exercises to help calm your body's physiological response to anxiety. A common technique is the 4-7-8 method: inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7 counts, and exhale for 8 counts.

Disturbing dreams can be a result of various factors such as stress, anxiety, trauma, or even some underlying psychological issue. Counselling can be beneficial in addressing and resolving these disturbing dreams. A trained counsellor can help you explore the underlying causes of your dreams and provide a safe space for you to share and process your experiences. They can also help you identify any patterns or triggers that might be contributing to the disturbing dreams. Through counselling, you can gain insight into your dreams, understand their symbolic meanings, and develop coping strategies to manage them. Additionally, a counsellor can teach you relaxation techniques, mindfulness exercises, and other strategies that can help reduce the intensity and frequency of your disturbing dreams. It is important to remember that counselling is a confidential and non-judgmental space, where you can freely express your thoughts and feelings without fear of being criticized or misunderstood. Your counsellor will work collaboratively with you to help you overcome the impact of disturbing dreams and improve your overall well-being.

Hi.. If you haven't slept for a single minute since one week, you must consult a Psychiatrist. He may prescribe you some medicines to help you fall asleep immediately. Once you get some necessary sleep you may seek help from a Psychologist to address your issues (bad dreams, many things in mind, etc.). A minimum 4-5 hrs of sleep is very basic requirement of the body and mind to function normally. If it is not getting regulated naturally, there is no harm in taking medicines prescribed by a Psychiatrist.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist. CBT along with Lifestyle Changes and Interpersonal Guidance and Counselling is required. Consult a Psychiatrist for Insomnia.
