What you’re describing sounds like performance anxiety with fear of rejection, which is very common after a setback such as job loss. Avoiding interviews temporarily reduces stress but reinforces the fear over time.
Start with small steps — mock interviews, practicing with friends, or recording yourself. Gradual exposure rebuilds confidence.
Regular exercise, structured routine, and positive visualization before interviews help reduce anxiety.
You might need psychological counseling more than medication at this point to help you overcome this fear. Definitely in the initial assessment if the counselor finds a need for medication, they would suggest you that, but counseling and therapy are required at this point
Hey
Thanks for reaching out firstly
I see fear of rejection has grown stronger with every missed opportunity, and now even the thought of facing an interview brings anxiety and self-doubt. This often happens when repeated disappointments make your mind associate interviews with emotional pain rather than possibility. You’re not lazy or incapable you’re scared, and that fear has started protecting you in the wrong way by avoiding situations that could help you grow.
Therapy can really help you break this cycle. It can rebuild your confidence step by step, help you reframe failure as learning, and teach calming techniques to manage anxiety before and during interviews. With guided exposure and support, you’ll slowly start showing up again, not because the fear disappears overnight, but because you’ll learn how to handle it. You can absolutely bounce back.
Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.
