NAVEL PROBLEM
My baby is 50 days old. The navel has been protruding since birth; the doctor said this is normal and will resolve on its own over time. What should I do now?

It is quite common and it slowly improves on its own. It may take 1 year to go away. Reassess every month and follow up with your Pediatrician

Greetings umbilical hernias resolve on their own by age 1. Keep the area clean and dry, washing it gently with water during regular baths. Never use coins, tape, or tight binders to push the bulge down, as this harms the skin. The bulge may look larger when your baby cries, coughs, or strains, which is completely normal. Seek immediate medical care if the navel becomes discolored, very tender, swollen, or hard.

Nothing to be done. Just wait and watch. If it does not resolve after one year, review with a paediatric surgeon
