Nausea and heaviness in chest
I had a bad bout of cough and cold that lasted over 2-3 weeks. I managed the symptoms at home using basic meds used to deal w cold and cough. My cough recently went away ( around 2-3 days ago) but i have been feeling heaviness in my chest region. It constantly feels like i have mucus build up which I'm unable to get rid of, i have been feeling very nauseous because of the same (I suspect) for the past 2 days. I also have been having on and off low grade fever. My energy levels are low and i feel tired all day. I have had pneumonia before and the heaviness feels similar to when I had mucus/fluid build up back then which didn't go away even after the treatment and required me to undergo a bronchoscopy to drain the fluid. My symptoms were a lot more severe then but could it be that I might be suffering from something similar?

It is very likely that you have taken a cough syrup containing cough supressant named Dextromethorphan, in which case the mucus build up in your throat has been suppressed from coming out. The solution in this case would be to use a syrup containing expectorant. And about pneumonia, either do a physical consultation with a doctor near you or do an x-ray and send it to me via online consultation. I will give you treatment.

Good Morning, thanks for reaching out and we are here to help you. Well! Your symptoms are chronic with low fever and in view of your past history of pneumonia. I would suggest you get Chest Xray, sputum culture, CBC, skin tuberculin test and follow up with the reports. In the meantime, i suggest you do steam inhalation 3 times a day with water only, drink plenty of water, and syrup Guaifenesin 2tsf 3 times a day. For more details, do you smoke? Does anybody in your family have pneumonia, lung disease, or tuberculosis history? What do you do for living (work)?
Next Steps
Chest Xray, CBC, Sputum Culture, Skin Tuberculin test
