Hi. For how long has she been having breathing issues? If it is a long term issue, she might need further investigation. However, if it is happening only since a few days, and she doesn't have any fever, you can try with some saline nasal drops and steam inhalation. While giving her steam, make sure she is sitting in the lap of an adult and it is continuously supervised. Alex junior syrup may be used but it is better that a paediatrician/ENT specialist examines her and prescribes the correct dosage for her weight. I would suggest that you visit a doctor for evaluation if the symptoms persist for more than a day or two. Warm regards, Dr Aanchal A Mittal, Therapeia centre, Bangalore
