I was having sporlac-ds and metrogyl 400
My vomiting stopped and stool transformed from watery to mushy just like porridge with stomach cramps... It has been 5 days
I took raw bananas boiled and gotu kala (thankuni) for home remedies however i am not completely on boiked food sometimes i take semi spicy foods like chicken curry and pastry ( but that is once or twice during these 5 days)

You’re improving, but the cramps + mushy stools are continuing because you are not following a strict bland diet and Metrogyl can itself irritate the stomach.
What to do now (simple):
Stop spicy / oily foods, pastry, chicken curry for 3 more days.
Follow strict bland diet:
ORS
Khichdi / rice + dal
Curd
Boiled potato / banana
Toast / biscuits
Continue Sporlac-DS twice daily for 3 days.
If cramps are more → Drotaverine 40 mg as needed (if safe for you).
Avoid milk (curd is okay), tea, cold drinks.
When to worry
Fever
Blood in stool
Severe weakness
Not improving by day 7

Hello, I am Dr Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. You initially had vomiting with watery loose stools which improved with Sporlac DS and Metrogyl. Now after five days, stools have become mushy with stomach cramps. This means your infection is improving but the intestine is still inflamed and not fully recovered.
Your diet over these five days is playing a major role. Semi spicy food, chicken curry and pastry can easily irritate the gut and delay healing.
Advices
1 Follow a strict bland diet for at least three to four days. This includes khichdi, curd rice, boiled potato, toast and banana.
2 Drink plenty of ORS to prevent dehydration and reduce cramps.
3 Avoid milk, spicy foods, meats, pastries and outside food until your intestines settle.
What to Monitor
1 Increasing cramps or new vomiting.
2 Blood or mucus in stool.
3 Severe weakness or dizziness.
Management
You may continue Sporlac DS for another three days.
For cramps, a safe antispasmodic medicine can help.
Metrogyl should not be continued beyond the prescribed course. If loose stools are persisting even after improvement, your intestine needs time and a proper recovery diet.
Taking spicy food during recovery can restart the irritation and prolong the infection.
If symptoms do not improve after proper diet control, you may need a stool test to rule out persistent infection or lactose intolerance temporarily triggered by diarrhoea. After knowing your exact symptoms and dietary pattern, I can guide you with the correct medicines and duration.
When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
1 Fever, blood in stool or severe dehydration.
2 Persistent vomiting.
3 Continuous cramps not relieved by diet and medicines.
Every patientâs situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, it is important to discuss your symptoms, diet and medical history in detail.
You can reach out to me directly for this case and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one on one consultation where you will receive

Good evening mam, since it's been five days , it's better to take a consultation.
If you have history of outside food intake , it may be most probably acute gastroenteritis.
The main treatment at this stage is maintained hydration and electrolyte levels by taking ORS if there is no signs of dehydration. To know the signs of dehydration and to get a better understanding of the problem do a one on one consultation.
Next Steps
Take half much ORS fluid as much as possible. There is a method to prepare over solution.
Health Tips
Avoid Packed juices, sweet drinks.
Eating chicken and pastry does not do much harm but better to take easily digestible foods like fruits and vegetables and porridge.
Good day to you
I understand your concern and I am sure this must be distressing causing a hindrance in your day to day activities. I shall try to the best of my abilities to consult you
Watery stools is a common sign due to food poisoning
Therefore I would like to ask some questions to narrow down the differential diagnosis
# Did you have any outside food/ food not home cooked 6-8 hours before the episode?
# Did you have any episode of fever?
There are many causes of diarrhoea such bacterial, viral, toxic exposure, drug overdose, protozoal infection, parasite and many more.
Next Steps
I kindly urge you to book a one to one consultation with your family physician or a physician you are comfortable with who can do the much needed workup (history, investigations) to reach the root cause of the issue followed by corresponding treatment plan
