I am a 22 year old male. For the past few days, when I wake up in the morning,
I have severe full body pain. Pain is more around hands, shoulders and chest area.
It feels like stiffness and soreness after sleep. Pain reduces slightly after moving.
No injury or heavy workout recently. Please advise possible reasons and treatment.

Take some simple painkillers like ibuprofen and paracetamol. If symptoms continue even after total of 4 weeks, need assessment for Inflammatory arthritis.
All the best.

Morning stiffness with body pain is commonly due to vitamin D deficiency, dehydration, viral illness, or early inflammatory muscle/joint condition. Please consult for basic evaluation and blood tests if it persists.
Seems like muscular pain.
Take tab flexon m.r one every morning and evening, before sleeping for 5 days, after meals.
Get serum calcium, vit d3 tested and share results.
Severe full-body pain (especially hands, shoulders, and chest area) every morning at 22 years old, feeling like post-exercise stiffness/soreness that eases after movement, with no recent injury or heavy workout, is not normal and needs proper evaluation — even though it improves during the day.
Most likely causes in your age group:
• Fibromyalgia or widespread musculoskeletal pain syndrome — classic morning stiffness + soreness in multiple areas (shoulders, hands, chest wall), improves with movement, no inflammation on exam
• Vitamin D deficiency — extremely common in young Indian males (indoor lifestyle, low sun exposure) and a top cause of diffuse body ache, morning stiffness, and muscle soreness
• Hypothyroidism (even subclinical) — can cause widespread myalgia, morning stiffness, and fatigue
• Poor sleep posture / myofascial pain — sleeping in bad position or on unsupportive mattress → shoulder/chest wall muscle strain every night
• Early inflammatory arthritis (e.g., seronegative spondyloarthropathy) — morning stiffness >30–60 min, improves with activity (though usually more back/hip than upper body)
• Electrolyte imbalance or low magnesium — can cause muscle soreness/stiffness, especially after sleep
• Stress / anxiety — can amplify muscle tension and morning body ache
Next Steps
1. See a doctor within the next 3–7 days — start with a general physician or rheumatologist (best for widespread pain).
• Tell them: pain pattern (morning worst, improves with movement), areas (hands, shoulders, chest), duration, no injury/workout, any fatigue/mood change/sleep quality issue.
2. Essential tests to request:
• Vitamin D (25-OH) — most common cause in your age
• TSH + free T4 — rule out thyroid
• Serum calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase — bone/mineral check
• Serum magnesium
• CBC + ESR + CRP — rule out inflammation
• CPK (if muscle damage suspected)
Health Tips
• Immediate relief (safe to try today):
• Warm shower / hot water bag on shoulders/chest/arms 10–15 min after waking
• Gentle full-body stretching (shoulder rolls, arm circles, neck tilts) 5–10 min morning & evening
• Paracetamol 650 mg in morning if pain is bad (safe short-term)
• Magnesium-rich foods (banana, spinach, almonds) or magnesium glycinate 200–300 mg at night (helps muscle relaxation)
• Sleep & posture:
• Use medium-firm mattress + thin pillow
• Sleep on back or side with pillow between knees
• Avoid sleeping on stomach or arms overhead
• Lifestyle:
• 15–20 min sunlight exposure daily (arms/legs)
• 30 min light walk or yoga daily
• Fixed sleep schedule (7–8 hours)
• Reduce phone/computer time before bed
Most young adults with this pattern improve dramatically (60–90%) in 4–8 weeks after correcting vitamin D/thyroid or improving sleep posture.
