Moodiness and loss of interest
A very close family member of mine is suffering from depression but refuses to acknowledge it. He lost interest in everything that he used to love and just passes through life. He lives all alone and is in an inaccessible area so no-one can visit him too. He has successfully alienated everyone who wants to talk to him. I want to check if there is a possibility that a psychologist/ psychiatrist can talk to him on phone and help him.

Hello, I completely understand the reason you'd like to help him. But quite honestly if he isn't willing to speak to anyone or like you have said alienated himself then it won't work. You could prep him to take help but not force him. The best thing for you to do right now would be to slowly start getting him to start communicating again. Help him to spend his time around people. Try to get him to open up about what caused this feeling. Depression as a diagnosis may seem normal, but, it is after all a diagnosis, please don't jump to conclusions unless it is diagnosed by a professional.
Next Steps
The best thing to do right now would be to be there for him. Even if you need to be quiet.Try to not let him be alone.
Health Tips
It may not really be depression. Unless he talks about what is happening you wont know for sure. Don't worry. You can personally meet a counsellor to help you in this situation. They will be able to guide you.
