Hi. Your moms A1C is normal but the average sugar is a little bit high so, please don't worry and take a proper diet and change lifestyle. Lots of food is responsible for increasing blood sugar but mostly people don't know which foods are allowed for borderline sugar.
To manage borderline levels of HbA1c and fasting sugar:
1. Balanced meals:Focus on eating balanced meals that include a variety of nutrients such as lean protein, healthy fats, complex carbohydrates (like whole grains), and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
2. Portion control:Be mindful of portion sizes to avoid overeating, which can contribute to spikes in blood sugar levels.
3. Limit refined carbohydrates:Minimize consumption of refined carbohydrates such as white bread, white rice, and sugary snacks and beverages, as they can cause rapid spikes in blood sugar.
4.Choose complex carbohydrates:Opt for whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, oats, and whole wheat bread, which are higher in fiber and cause a slower, more gradual rise in blood sugar.
5. Include fiber-rich foods:Fiber helps regulate blood sugar levels by slowing down the absorption of sugar in the bloodstream. Incorporate plenty of fruits, vegetables, legumes, and nuts into your diet.
6. Healthy fats:Include sources of healthy fats such as avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil, which can help improve insulin sensitivity and regulate blood sugar levels.
7.Limit sugary foods and beverages:Minimize consumption of sweets, desserts, sugary snacks, and sweetened beverages, as they can quickly raise blood sugar levels.
8. Stay hydrated:Drink plenty of water throughout the day, as dehydration can affect blood sugar levels
Next Steps
Remember, making gradual changes to your diet and lifestyle can have a positive impact on your blood sugar levels over time.
