I can understand your situation. You have nine months baby, your doctor advised you to gradually optimise the dose of medication. If you will stop it completely.it might be possible that symptoms reoccur as sleep and daily routine of a child bearing mother get hampered, So I will suggest you to consult your doctor and if you feel that symptoms as irritability, disturbed sleep are reoccurring, it means still medications are needed as some optimum dose, but don't bother, you think yourself for DM, HTN, thyroid and various such illness people take medication for long time, so do not worry, just trust your doctor and maintain follow up on stopping medication so that if symptoms reoccur, proper management can be done
Next Steps
follow what we have discussed
Health Tips
do not worry, post-partum depression is very common, you will be okay, you are A super mom
Sudden downtapering is not advised in any case. If ur diagnosis regarding Post partum depression is right .. then a minimum of 9-12 months of treatment course is required to allow relapse of symptoms
Also mirtazapine has a lot of weight gain potential hence dietary modification is strictly required else significant weight gain is observed
If settled and having side effects also can cross taper with any other anti depressant of safety profile like vortioxetine and vilazodone
Next Steps
consult a psychiatrist (online/offline) as per your suitability
Health Tips
don't self medicate/sudden stopping leads to relapse in later part of illness
