Milk knot = Initial stage of breast engorgement. Solution: 1. Feed baby from both the breasts 2. Express excess milk after each feed with Manual expression  or Breast pump 3. Cold compression over affected breast every 4 hourly Complications: if u do not Express extra milk then, Pain, redness, Fever and ultimately breast abscesses will form. Which is very painful condition and may require surgical intervention. Pls express extra milk and do cold compression.

Hello there , Feed your baby from both breasts alternately. Avoid breast engorging. You can empty breast manually or with breast pump if you feel excessive milk is collected. If milk knots are persistent / if you feel fever or local redness/ pain , contact doctor immediately for further management.
