Breast milk problem
I have a one month preterm baby, breast milk is not coming, only like dropwise currently taking lactare tab , granules powder, healthy food..still milk is not producing, am on steroids for low platelets(ITP) and also
Taking insulin for diabetes, is this medication affecting the milk production??? In my first pregnancy there was no issue in milk production. Pls can you give me the solution it's already one month can I expect milk production still??? Thnks in advance

Milk production can still improve even after 1 month postpartum.
👉Neither insulin nor corticosteroids at replacement/therapeutic doses are usually the main cause, although maternal illness (ITP, diabetes), preterm delivery, stress, and delayed or infrequent breast emptying can contribute to low supply.
👉Ensure effective breast stimulation by breastfeeding or pumping 8–12 times/day, including at least once at night, with skin-to-skin contact and correct latch.
👉 If the baby is unable to suck effectively, use a hospital-grade double electric pump after feeds. Review thyroid function, anemia, retained products, and breast anatomy if supply remains very low.
🌿A lactation consultant assessment is strongly recommended.
❤️With consistent stimulation and support, many mothers do experience an increase in milk production, even at this stage.

It happens once baby regularly socks on breast, to initiate and maintain milk production. This medication doesn't affect milk production.
