Mild LVH at 21 Seeking Reversal Advice
Hello Doctor, I’m a 21-year-old male (turning 22 soon), height 6’0–6’1, and weight 126 kg. I recently had a 2D Echocardiogram, and the impression on my report reads: “Hypertensive heart disease, mild concentric LVH (may be physiological).” I don’t currently monitor my blood pressure and haven’t been on any medication. My ultrasound of the chest came back normal, and I have no symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or palpitations. I wanted to ask: 1. At my age, is this condition reversible or something to be seriously concerned about? 2. Could this mild concentric LVH be due to my weight or build rather than actual hypertensive disease? 3. What steps diet, exercise, supplements, medicines or treatment can help reverse or normalize it? 4. How often should I repeat my 2D echo or cardiac evaluation? I’m very motivated to make changes and just want to ensure I’m doing the right things early. I would deeply appreciate your guidance on the best approach moving forward.

Mild concentric LVH at your age is usually reversible and not something to worry excessively about. It can happen due to your weight and overall body build, but you should still start regular BP monitoring to rule out hidden hypertension. Focus on gradual weight loss, 30–40 minutes of daily walking, low-salt clean diet, good sleep, and optional supplements like omega-3 or CoQ10. Medicines are not needed unless your BP stays high. You can repeat your 2D echo after 9–12 months (or 6 months if BP is elevated). With consistent lifestyle changes, these early heart changes typically normalize completely.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your detailed concern and first of all, it’s really good that you got your 2D Echo done at an early stage. A report showing “Hypertensive Heart Disease with mild concentric LVH” means that your heart’s left ventricle (main pumping chamber) is slightly thickened. At your age (21 years) and weight (126 kg), this finding is often early and reversible, especially if detected before symptoms develop. Is it reversible? Yes, in most young individuals with mild concentric LVH, the heart muscle remodeling can improve with the right interventions. The key is to identify and correct the underlying cause early whether it’s uncontrolled blood pressure, obesity, stress, or hormonal imbalance. Regular monitoring and lifestyle correction make a big difference. Could it be due to your build or weight? Absolutely. In tall or heavy individuals, a mild thickening may be physiological meaning the heart muscle is adapting to increased body demand rather than true hypertensive disease. However, since you haven’t been monitoring your blood pressure, it’s important to start checking your BP regularly (preferably at home, morning and evening) for 2 weeks to confirm whether hypertension is present. Steps to reverse or improve the condition: Weight management: Gradual, steady reduction of 10–15 kg can significantly reduce cardiac load. Salt control: Limit processed foods and added salt. Exercise: Begin with 30 min brisk walking daily; add light strength training only once BP is under control. Diet: Focus on a high-fiber, plant-rich diet; include fruits, vegetables, oats, and omega-3-rich foods. Avoid trans fats and excessive caffeine. Stress & sleep: Emotional stress, poor sleep, and irregular work patterns (common in young professionals) can worsen blood pressure and heart strain. Supplements: If blood reports show low Vitamin D, B12, or CoQ10(vit like substance)these can support cardiac health. Homeopathic approach: In homeopathy, we individualize treatment to address not just BP or LVH, but also the constitutional causes stress patterns, metabolism, emotional factors, and genetic tendencies. I have treated several patients with early hypertensive changes and LVH who improved remarkably with holistic homeopathic care, diet correction, and regular follow-up. How often should you repeat tests? If you start lifestyle modification and treatment now, repeat your 2D Echo and ECG every 9–12 months, and get your BP and lipid profile checked every 3–6 months. If any symptoms arise (chest heaviness, breathlessness, or fatigue), consult earlier. You’re at the perfect stage to reverse these early changes naturally, without needing long-term medication but only with consistent follow-up and individualized care. I’m Dr. Jyoti Kadkol from Health Global Homoeopathy Clinic, Bangalore, and I’d be happy to help you with a comprehensive, customized plan combining homeopathy, diet guidance, and lifestyle correction. You can also opt for an online consultation if you’re unable to visit in person through . Your awareness and motivation are already your biggest strengths with the right steps now, your heart can absolutely recover and stay healthy for decades ahead. Hello there... I will try to answer your questions in the same manner through numbers. 1) Yes, it is a condition of concern and should be dealt with seriously and on immediate basis. yes, it is reversible with right treatment, diet and regimen. 2)Without knowing your blood pressure measurements of considerable duration it is not possible to diagnose... but both Hypertension and your build contributes for sure. 3) As the condition is serious (not life threatening as of now) it will require a multisystem approach including homoeopathic treatment, diet, nutraceuticals, exercise routine etc. 4) It is advisable to repeat the Echo every 6 months at least. And the duration can be increased after 2 consecutive normal Echos.

“Mild concentric LVH at your age is usually related to weight and lifestyle rather than a permanent heart disease. In many young patients, this change is reversible, especially when the main factor is excess weight or borderline blood pressure. 1️⃣ Is it reversible? Yes — at 21 years, the heart muscle can return to normal thickness once the strain on the heart reduces. We have seen good improvement with weight reduction, controlled BP and regular monitoring. 2️⃣ Is it due to weight/build? Your weight (126 kg) can definitely cause the heart to work harder even if you have no symptoms. Many young males with higher BMI show mild LVH without true hypertension. 3️⃣ What can help? • Weight reduction is the most important (even 8–10 kg loss shows changes) • Regular BP monitoring • Reduce salt, caffeine and processed foods • 30–45 min brisk walking • Stress reduction & good sleep Homeopathy helps by: • Improving metabolic rate • Supporting weight loss • Reducing cardiac strain • Improving energy, sleep and overall health Based on your physical and emotional profile, remedies such as Calcarea Carb, Fucus Vesiculosus, Natrum Mur, Baryta Mur etc. are selected — but it requires detailed case-taking to choose the right one. 4️⃣ How often to repeat 2D Echo? Usually once in 6–9 months, or earlier if symptoms develop. You’re already motivated — that is the biggest factor in reversing this. You can connect with me on Practo for a personalised assessment and homeopathic plan.”**
