Mild anemia
Hi my son is 5 years old ... recently we took blood test for him under his pediatrician suggestions...the report shows he had mild anemia...so my pediatrician prescrip some iron ( trifer syprup) and calcium(calfeed syrup) to give him morning and night...so now doubt is ...can give iron and calcium syrup together ? Is ok to give them together?please clear my doubt...bcoz some one said if we give iron and calcium supplements together...the calcium supplements inhibits iron supplements...is that true? Please give me some idea ..is ok to give both supplements together or not?

Iron and calcium supplements should not be given together as it inhibit absorptions Maintain gap of atleast 1 hour between 2 syrup Iron supplements should be given empty stomach for better absorption

Yes give iron trifer syrup on empty stomach and calcium give at afternoon after food .... And keep it mind that your child can pass red colour stools ....dont be panic thats normal that is due to iron syrup ....whenever you take iron you may see red colour stools.... Thats normal too
