Microcytic anaemia
Hello doctor. My mother,47, was diagnosed with microcytic anaemia in March. She had Iron Deficiency Anaemia. Her Mcv was low (74.7fl)  and Rdw was high (21%). Her Iron (13 ug/dl)  and Vit B12 levels (120 pg/ml) were very low. Serum creatinine was normal. After taking treatment her iron (94 mic g/dl) and B12 levels (373 pg/ml) are fine now. MCV has gone up too (85.7 fl) but rdw is still above the upper limit (17%). Why is RDW not going down? I'm worried. Has she not recovered yet? It's been more than two months.
