My mother has Lung cancer with metastasis to liver, brain, vertebrae, brain, hips, lymph nodes. Received chemotherapy with 4 cycles of carbaplatin and 12 cycles of Paclitaxel. Repeat PET scan shows further growth in the liver lobes. Totally clueless what went wrong. Kindly help

Carcinoma lung mostly detected in late stages and prognosis is poor. Aim in this setting is palliative. If she is progressing on 1st line than 2 ND line chemotherapy may be starting provided her general condition should be adequate

Oncology fact is once cancer has spread to other part of body, its not curable.
The chemotherapy she has received is for palliation.
What went wrong: its bad biology of cancer which is refractory to current treatment.
