Hello there If you are having severe pain in the back all of a sudden ...it is more likely to be a case of severe muscle spasm.
Next Steps
You need to have bed rest along with hot water formentation. prescription muscle relaxants would be of great benefit in the initial stages. once you become a bit comfortable with your pain you can have SWD,IFT sessions in any physiotherapy opd. still to be on the safe side get xrays of your back in lat/AP position.
Health Tips
Avoid lifting weight,Forward bending. do resort back for proper analysis and followup. Dr Raviraj Francis MPTh(Rehab),MPT(MSK)
