Low birth weight and AFI level
I'm in 37th week start of pregnancy I have done my scanning it says baby weight is 2.4kg and AFI level is 8.6 .doctor suggested to admit on start of 38th week of delivery..in scanning it is mentioned like IUGR what does it mean? I have attached the report please check

IUGR is Intrauterine growth restriction. It means that the baby is not doing well inside the uterus and it should be delivered. AFI of 8.6 cm is definitely less. You should have Colour Doppler studies and NST (if available). Depending on the results you may need a Caesarean.

Meticulous monitoring with NST   color doppler studies If any evidence  of fetoplacental insufficiency immediate delivery by c.section Ifnot u can wait until 37weeksto 38 weeks  with close monitoring

AFI is normal. Upto 3 weeks lag in the growth in 3rd trimester can be considered normal. But these reports should be correlated with your present health condition and co-morbidities and previous reports.
