It is reassuring to know that your H. pylori infection was successfully eradicated and confirmed negative by a stool test in March 2026 . However, it is very common to experience persistent symptoms due to your overlapping diagnoses of Functional Dyspepsia, Lax LES, and Esophageal Hypersensitivity . In esophageal hypersensitivity, the nerve endings in your esophagus are overly sensitive, meaning even normal amounts of stomach acid or gas can cause loud belching and significant burning sensations, especially when your stomach is empty
.
Next Steps
Since you have already taken a 3-month course of PPIs and wish to avoid them now, there are highly effective alternative medical strategies available . We can manage this using low-dose visceral neuromodulators (to calm down the hypersensitive nerves), mucosal protectants, or prokinetics instead of traditional PPIs.
