✅ Possible Cause
Albendazole can irritate the gastrointestinal tract and cause mild side effects such as:
Loose stools
Abdominal discomfort
Nausea
⚠️ When to Worry
Seek medical attention if:
Loose stools persist beyond 24–48 hours
There is blood or mucus in stool
Associated with fever, vomiting, or signs of dehydration (dry mouth, reduced urine output, lethargy)
💧 What You Can Do
Hydration is key: Give ORS (oral rehydration solution), especially if a child.
Bland diet: Easily digestible foods like rice, curd, banana, and toast.
Avoid spicy or oily foods until stools normalize.
Add curd to the diet

1.Loose stools after giving Albendazole syrup is common side effect of this syrup, it's normal only.
For loose stools give following medicines:
Give Enterogermina respules 1 tube morning and night for 3days
Give ZN 20 drops 1ml daily once for 3 days
It can happen after albendazole
Make sure the child is hydrated well by giving ORS and lots of water
Seek medical advice if the loose stools are persistent beyond 24hrs
