I had a bad habit of chewing tobacco and smoking, I have quit it now. I Have a small non scrap able white patch in my left cheek (side where I used to put tobacco). Will it convert into cancer even though I have stopped any form of tobacco or alcohol usage completely.
Can kenacort gel, lycopene and chlorhexidine along with complete cessation of habit reverse the condition.
Only after oral examination one can decide your treatment plan.
Visit a dental surgeon follow instructions properly, treatment for one person to other varies .
These may convert to oral cancer so don’t skip your appointment with your dental surgeon.
Many patients don’t go for regular dental check up as they don’t like paying consultation fees to dental surgeons.
if you have stopped mostly it will subside, these lesions are pre cancerous conditions and can turn malignant on regular chewing habbit.. the medications u r taking are fine but still you need a regular follow up for any untoward changes.. thank you .. have a good day
Hello dont worry sir 1st go for a dental check up dont think about it much if they are giving kenacort then only apply we have to check the patch sir all white patches are not leukoplakia
Dont think about cancer and all
Hi.. Not all white patches turn into cancer but if you continue to use tobacco, then yes it may convert into cancer. Since you stopped the habit, you visit a dentist and get it checked. Dr will do tests to know the severity. Based on the severity Dr will advise you gels and medicines.
Next Steps
If Dr advised you gel, lycopene, and mouthwash after checking then they will definitely work and prevent from advancement of the condition.
It would be tobacco pouch keratosis. However difficult to judge without a picture or clinical evaluation. If you’ve given up your habit completely it will recover but will take its own time to resolve. May be even a few months.
Plz get it evaluated thoroughly by a qualified dentist
