If she is compared to her sisiter or other children, envy is a normal reaction. Is the lethargy a recent change in her behaviour? Children often get stuck in cycles of lethargy and demotivation if there is excessive criticism or judgement. Have you ruled out medical issues like hypothyroidism? If medically well, please see a child psychiatrist who will diagnose and treat underlying depression. Parents will need to participate in therapy to know how to help the child without being critical of her.
