Drinking lemon water daily can provide health benefits such as improving digestion, boosting the immune system, and providing the body with vitamin C. However, consuming acidic beverages like lemon water can potentially have negative effects on the teeth and gums if proper precautions are not taken.
Lemon juice is highly acidic, and frequent consumption of acidic foods and drinks can erode the enamel on teeth over time, leading to tooth sensitivity and increased risk of decay. Additionally, the acid in lemon juice can irritate the gums and lead to inflammation or even gum disease if left unchecked.
To minimize the risk of damage to the teeth and gums, it's important to consume lemon water in moderation and take steps to protect the teeth. Drinking lemon water through a straw can help to minimize contact with the teeth, while rinsing the mouth with plain water after consuming acidic beverages can help to neutralize any remaining acid.
It's also important to maintain good oral hygiene practices, such as brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and flossing daily, to remove any harmful bacteria and prevent tooth decay and gum disease. If you have concerns about the impact of lemon water on your oral health, it's advisable to consult with a dentist or dental professional.

Lemon has citric acid in it , which is beneficial for our health and for the gums too however it is not so good for the enamel of our teeth , as it causes erosion of it which in turn leads to thinning of enamel surface. This reduction in thickness makes the teeth prone to sensitivity and caries in future .
Direct contact between the citric acid and teeth must be avoided as much as possible .
Having a lemon is very beneficial for oral and general health. However, you must dilute lemon juice in water and drink. Pure lemon juice is too acidic and over a period of time can wear away enamel. Lemon juice is good for gum health as it is rich in ascorbic acid and citric acid which are essential for collagen development
Hi lemon has citric acid in it.
Daily intake of it would cause erosion of the enamel.
Later on discoloration of teeth , sensitivity , indentations on teeth , wear of enamel occurs.
To prevent all this you can use a straw to consume this and also try to rinse the mouth after intake of lemon water.
Use a fluoridated toothpaste to protect the enamel.
Leave the toothpaste coated for about 10mins like an ointment for fluoride action to prevail.
Lemon is acidic and acid erodes the tooth surface enamel and in the long run may lead to sensitivity and yellowing of teeth.
If u want to continue this practice then u May take lemon water which is less concentrated, drink using a straw, rinse your mouth with normal water after consuming it and not brush immediately after consuming it.
Hi
Lemon contains citric acid in it, constantly using it will destroy the upper layer of your teeth called enamel, that will expose the second layer called dentine ,if this is exposed you will have sensitivity and that will lead to other issues as well in long run
Health Tips
*Use a few drops of lemon in water
*use straw to drink any kind of citric juices
