The competent perforator is suggestive that there are no varicose veins. Knee effusion is due to irritation of the knee secondary to injury or your lifestyle where you are using the painful knee for doing all activities that are irritable to the knee.

ice, analgesics, rest to the irritated knee by sitting at a height such that you have no difficulty in getting up, walking more frequently
