From the photo and your description (itching, dryness, white soggy skin between toes, no pain), this most likely looks like interdigital fungal infection (Tinea pedis / athlete’s foot).
Why this fits:
• Occurs between toes only
• Itching + peeling + whitish macerated skin
• No pain, no swelling → early to moderate stage
• Very common at your age (27), especially with sweating, closed footwear, or damp feet
Less likely causes:
• Allergy → usually redness & burning
• Eczema → usually both feet, cracked skin
• Bacterial infection → pain, discharge, foul smell
So this is not serious, but it will not go away on its own without treatment.
Next Steps
You should start topical antifungal treatment and foot care:
Medicines (OTC):
• Clotrimazole 1% cream OR Luliconazole 1% cream
• Apply once daily (luliconazole) or twice daily (clotrimazole)
• Continue for 2–4 weeks, even if itching stops early
Foot hygiene (very important):
• Wash feet daily → dry thoroughly between toes
• Keep feet dry and open whenever possible
• Change socks daily
• Avoid tight or non-breathable footwear
⚠️ Do NOT use steroid combination creams (like betnovate-N, quadriderm, etc.) — they worsen fungal infection.
If no improvement in 10–14 days, oral treatment may be needed.
Health Tips
• After bathing, you can use antifungal dusting powder in daytime
• Don’t scratch — it spreads infection to nails
• Trim toenails short and clean
• If sweating is excessive, that needs to be addressed too
If you want, you can book an online consultation with me —
I can:
• Confirm the diagnosis (fungal vs eczema)
• Prescribe the correct antifungal + duration
• Prevent recurrence and nail involvement
Early proper treatment saves months of repeated itching and failed creams.
