It depends where your experiencing pain exactly whether in preauricular region or angle of mandible region because if it's because of last molar the excruciating pain will start from left retromolar region radiating towards left angle of mandible or preauricular region
But if it's because of left TMJ joint u need to rule out internal derangement of TMJ or any joint ligament laxity
Therefore there can be many reasons for jaw discomfort...
