Left arm pain could be due to many reasons notably heart , gastric ,local muscular , nerve related from the cervical spondylosis etc.As you have mentioned that you do have high cholesterol , it's a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. You certainly need to get a baseline ECG ,do consult with a general physician in your area.If the ECG is normal ,do visit a orthopedist.
