Respected Physicians here. I have been prescribed Meva C tablet before meals, BD, for my abdominal cramps. However of late I have been facing severe constipation. Is it safe to take one Dulcoflex tablet at bed time with a 2 hour gap between Meva C & Dulcoflex? Please guide for any other laxative that potentially helps relieve constipation better.
Warmest Regards to all 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Meva-C contains mebeverine + chlordiazepoxide and can itself cause constipation in some people. Dulcoflex contains bisacodyl, a stimulant laxative, and can be used for short-term constipation, but recurrent/severe constipation should not be managed repeatedly with stimulant laxatives without identifying the cause.
A fibre-rich diet, adequate fluids and regular physical activity are helpful. A stool-softening/osmotic laxative may be preferable for ongoing constipation, but the choice should depend on your medical history and other medicines.
You may consult me on Practo to review your current medicines and suggest an appropriate constipation regimen.
You need a review of the current medicines and an appropriate laxative rather than adding Dulcolax on your own.
A consultation would help assess the cause and choose a safe, effective option for relief.
You can stop it and no to worry about it.

Melatonin c itself can cause constipation, hence avoid it. Abdominal cramps could be due to constipation and resulting gases as well.
Take tab dulcolax 10mg after dinner. Take high fiber diet, hot water before sleeping and after getting up.
Get ultrasound abdomen done and share results. Then I can help you further.
Dulcoflex (bisacodyl) can be used for short-term constipation. A 2-hour gap from Meva C is reasonable, but avoid using two laxatives routinely without medical advice
Tab. Dulcoflex 5 mg – 1 tab HS × 2–3 days
Next Steps
Drink plenty of water and increase fibre gradually. Consult your doctor if constipation persists
Health Tips
Do not use Dulcoflex daily for >5 days. Severe abdominal pain, vomiting or abdominal swelling → urgent consultation
Yes, you can take it better to take duphalac syrup form along with a cup of warm water just before bed
Do not take any laxative regularly as it may lead to other potential problems
Take home message: Stay hydrated and start eating more of fibre rich diet and salad before meals
